A climate group is raising money to carve President Trump’s face onto an Arctic block of ice.
“Project Trumpmore,” which is being spearheaded by a Finnish organization called Melting Ice, needs to raise $500,000 to for the 115 foot-tall ice sculpture of Trump’s face to come to fruition. The group’s goal is to visually demonstrate climate change as the ice melts.
“Global warming is one of the most important issues and topics of today. There are still people who ponder whether it’s a real issue,” Nicolas Prieto, chairman of Melting Ice, said in a press release. “We want to build the monument for all of us, so we can see how long the sculpture lasts before melting. Often people only believe something when they see it with their own eyes.”
The group promised to carve Trump’s face into an “arctic iceberg” and an “arctic glacier,” seeming to use the words interchangeably. An iceberg is a large block of ice floating in water, while a glacier is an ice flow on land.
Trump has disputed climate change multiple times and has a long history of making jokes relative to global warming.
“The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive,” Trump tweeted in 2012.

Trump also tweeted last year, facetiously asking for “a little bit of that good old Global Warming” during a period of cold weather.
In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!

If successful, the activists will install a camera at the site of the iceberg and run a livestream of the glacier melting.
