Melania Trump, the wife of Donald Trump, said former President Bill Clinton’s infidelities are fair game in the presidential campaign because her past has become an issue, adding that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s campaign was “asking for it.”
According to excerpts of an interview with Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt, Melania Trump asked openly why it was fine for the media to release nude photos from her days as a model, but not bring up the 41st president’s past. She made the comment when asked if it was fair for the media or the GOP nominee to make his past a campaign issue.
“Well, if they bring up my past, why not?” Trump told Earhardt, referring to the New York Post running nude photos of her from a photo shoot in 1995.
“So they — they’re asking for it?” the Fox host asked.
“They’re asking for it,” Trump said. “They started. They started from the — from the beginning of the campaign putting my — my picture from modeling days. That was my modeling days and I’m proud of what I did. I worked very hard.”
Prior to the second presidential debate last Sunday, Trump brought Clinton accusers Juanita Broaddrick, Paula Jones and Kathleen Willey as guests of the campaign and held a brief press event with them prior to the debate.
