Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin donated his first-quarter salary to a law enforcement assistance nonprofit group on Wednesday, fulfilling a pledge he made in his 2021 gubernatorial campaign.

The $43,750 was donated to the Virginia Law Enforcement Assistance Program, which helps police officers and first responders “who have undergone traumatic critical incidents,” according to a news release from Youngkin’s office. This was Youngkin’s first time donating to the organization, and he intends to donate to it again in the future, his office told the Washington Examiner.
