Marine from Texas killed in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON (AP) — Military officials say a marine from Texas has been killed in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense announced Thursday that Sgt. Thomas Z. Spitzer, 23, of New Braunfels died Wednesday while conducting combat operations in Helmand province.
