White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway on Friday said President Trump will continue the fast pace he has embraced in his first week in the Oval Office.
Fox News “O’Reilly Factor” fill-in host Eric Bolling asked the former campaign manager if Trump could keep running at the level he has since being sworn into office last Friday.
“Yes, he will,” Conway responded. “And people seem shocked that he’s actually following through on his campaign. I don’t think Washington’s accustomed to somebody who’s just been a brilliant businessman, who’s accustomed to delivering and producing results.”
Since last weekend, Trump’s team has issued executive orders on immigration, border security, manufacturing regulations, the Dakota Access Pipeline, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the federal hiring freeze.
Trump hosted United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May at the White House on Friday. He is scheduled to speak by phone with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Francois Hollande.
“Action and impact has gone on all week long. People have gotten spoiled,” Conway added, hitting on a statement Trump made throughout the campaign season that the public would “get tired of winning.”
