White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Wednesday dismissed the idea that people should be worried about President Trump after he tweeted out an incoherent message Tuesday night that included the word “covfefe,” and joked that some people in the White House actually knew what he was talking about.
“The president and a small group of people know exactly what he meant,” Spicer said.
Reporters tried to follow up by asking, “What does covfefe mean?” but Spicer ignored those questions.
Trump tweeted Tuesday to complain about “constant negative press covfefe.” After Twitter circulated jokes about the tweet Tuesday, Trump got into the act by tweeting Wednesday, “Who can figure out the true meaning of “covfefe” ??? Enjoy!”
Spicer wrapped up the Wednesday briefing after only 11 minutes because Trump was set to meet with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc of Vietnam at the White House.
