Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo wondered aloud Wednesday about whether she was “shadow banned” on Twitter.
During her show, “Mornings with Maria,” Bartiromo complained about not getting any attention when she tweeted out a video of former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper saying former President Barack Obama ordered the intelligence assessment that resulted in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
“I tweeted it out. It got no life. It got no life. And I know that’s something my followers and viewers care about, big time. It got no life. So I’m just wondering, was I shadow banned?”,” Bartiromo said.

Minutes later, Bartiromo retweeted a video of the Clapper clip, telling her followers: “Let me know if you see this tweet – I find this admission amazing.”

Clapper made the comment in July during a segment on CNN. ” If it weren’t for President Obama, we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set off a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today, notably, special counsel Mueller’s investigation,” Clapper told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
Earlier in the summer, several conservative figures, including some GOP congressmen and Donald Trump Jr., complained about being “shadow banned” amid reports that Twitter was making them less visible in a search. Twitter has said that “shadow banning” is not something the company does, and in a blog post attributed what happened to being an “issue” that was soon resolved.
Twitter did not immediately return a request for comment about Bartiromo’s claim.
