News Summary: GM to revamp smaller pickups

Published April 16, 2013 7:27pm ET

GETTING SMALLER: General Motors plans new versions of its midsize Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks. They’ll be smaller than full-size trucks but capable of doing 95 percent of the jobs that big trucks do.

THE REASON: GM wants to better compete with Toyota’s Tacoma midsize trucks. The Chevy trucks will target younger buyers who use trucks for recreation, while the GMC trucks will be aimed at buyers who want higher gas mileage.
