Kimberly Klacik slated to speak at Republican convention following viral video ‘exposing what life is like in Democrat run cities’

The Republican candidate seeking to fill late Rep. Elijah Cumming’s seat will speak at the Republican National Convention on Monday night.

Kimberly Klacik, who is running to win Maryland’s 7th Congressional District, which contains portions of Baltimore, accepted an invitation to speak at the convention, according to KUSI News.

The news comes after an ad for Klacik’s campaign went viral last week that featured her “exposing what life is like in Democrat run cities.”

“Do you care about black lives?” Klacik asked viewers of the ad. “The people that run Baltimore don’t. I can prove it. Walk with me. They don’t want you to see this.”

“This is the reality for black people every single day: crumbling infrastructure, abandoned homes, poverty, and crime,” Klacik said as she walked by dilapidated buildings. “Baltimore has been run by the Democrat Party for 53 years. What is the result of their decades of leadership?”

Klacik has been a staunch supporter of President Trump and his administration. Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., endorsed Klacik on Monday and nominated her as his “MAGA Candidate of the Week.”

“Proud to endorse @kimKBaltimore for Congress & name her my #MAGA Candidate of the Week!” he tweeted. “Dems have failed this district for decades now. Kim wants to rebuild Baltimore & will fight in Congress to lower crime & help local small businesses.”

The Republican convention will also feature the president, Reps. Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan, Democratic Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones, and others Monday evening.
