Police officers fired over Stormy Daniels strip club arrest

Two Ohio police officers were fired on Thursday as a result of the arrest of porn star Stormy Daniels at a strip club in 2018.

Daniels was arrested at Sirens Gentleman’s Club, an Ohio strip club, in July 2018 after police said she touched patrons while she performed. State law prohibits employees who regularly appear nude or semi-nude from touching patrons. Two of the officers involved in the arrest, Steve Rosser and Whitney Lancaster, were terminated for their roles in the arrest, according to the New York Daily News.

Charges against Daniels were dropped soon after her arrest. Michael Avenatti, Daniels’s lawyer at the time, said the charges were retaliation for her claims that she had sex with President Trump in 2006 after he married first lady Melania Trump. Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, settled a malicious prosecution suit for $450,000.

Before the 2016 election, Daniels was paid $130,000 by Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen in exchange for her silence about the alleged affair. Trump denies the affair.
