D.C. appeals court reverses murder conviction
The D.C. Court of Appeals on Thursday overturned the first-degree murder conviction of a man convicted of killing a cab driver.
An appeals court ruled that defendant Eric Gardner didn’t get to cross-examine forensic experts in his trial for the 2004 shooting death of Andrew Kamara. The three-judge panel also said D.C. Judge James Boasberg improperly admitted other forensic expert evidence and testimony, a “cornerstone” to the prosecution’s case.
