Trump on Talking to Kim Jong-Un: ‘Who The Hell Cares?’

During a speech in Atlanta on Wednesday, Donald Trump said Kim Jong-un “acts up,” but he would be willing to speak with the leader.

“He acts up. You know, he has his little fits,” Trump said of the North Korean leader who brags about his nuclear tests and once warned that “[i]f invasive outsiders and provocateurs touch us even slightly, we will not be forgiving in the least and sternly answer with a merciless, holy war of justice.”

The candidate bemoaned that “every time he acts up, South Korea says ‘oh.’ And we start sending our ships and planes or this or that.”

He recalled being asked whether or not he would speak to Kim, to which he replied, “absolutely—why not?”

“Who the hell cares? I’ll speak to anybody,” Trump added. “Who knows? There’s a 10 percent or a 20 percent chance that I can talk ’em out of those damn nukes, ’cause who the hell wants him to have nukes.”
