Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner leaving president’s foreign trip early

White House advisers Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are leaving the president’s foreign trip early and will return to Washington on Thursday, according to a White House official.

The aide said “the plan was always for them to go back to D.C. after Rome.”

Trump and Kushner were with President Trump during his visit with Pope Francis. They were also with the president during his first stop in Saudi Arabia.

The White House official said Kushner “helped plan and oversee the first part of the trip,” which focused on talking to the leaders of the world’s largest religions.

Trump is in Brussels for meetings with European officials. He travels to Sicily later this week for a G-7 Summit.
