Illinois county considers high-speed rail station

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) — A southwestern Illinois county is weighing whether to commit $500,000 toward an East St. Louis station along an emerging high-speed Amtrak route.

The Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/1k4Kv2G) reports St. Clair County’s governing board is considering the investment.
