Joe Biden left some Twitter users queasy after a clip from the campaign trail showed him discussing children playing with his leg hair.
During the campaign speech, Biden, 77, described how children used to play with his blond leg hairs in the swimming pool while telling a story about his time working as a lifeguard.
“By the way, you know, I sit on the stand and it’d get hot. I got a lot of — I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun,” Biden said. “And the kids used to come up and reach in the pool and rub my leg down so it was straight and then watch the hair come back up again.”
He concluded his tale by saying, “I love kids jumping on my lap.”
Biden was mocked online for the story.
This can’t be real life…

About two months before Iowa. . . I’m telling you, Biden is not going to be the nominee. If for some strange reason he is, Trump will crush him in the debates. https://t.co/Yjl1eA6fLP

Apparently when you remove the malarkey from Biden, all you have left is an old leather bag full of whatever-the-hell this is. https://t.co/TN1Zia1tic

The clip appears to be from the same event where Biden gave a drawn-out speech about his old nemesis, Corn Pop. Biden told the story of his encounter with the supposed gang leader at an event in September.
Better, longer version of Biden’s cornpop, rusty razor blades & rain barrels yarn. An infinitely less disturbing tale than the hairy legs & roaches story.
Reminder: he’s currently the Democrat frontrunner.pic.twitter.com/jAQXXEyluk— Rita Panahi (@RitaPanahi) December 1, 2019
This is the second moment Biden has had surface this weekend causing a stir online. He was also mocked for nibbling his wife’s finger during a campaign speech in Iowa on Saturday. A number of verbal slip-ups and remarks have thrown a shadow over his campaign following accusations that he has made women uncomfortable by being too hands-on and sniffing their hair.
Biden is the front-runner in the Democratic presidential primary. He leads in most polls with a RealClearPolitics polling average of 27% support.
