Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus declared that in the wake of Sen. Ted Cruz dropping out of the GOP nomination race after his defeat in Indiana, Donald Trump is now the party’s presumptive nominee.
Priebus tweeted out shortly before 9 p.m. that Trump will be the presumptive nominee, adding that the party needs “to unite and focus” on toppling former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in November.
“@realDonaldTrump will be presumtive @GOP nominee, we all need to unite and focus on defeating @HillaryClinton #NeverClinton,” Priebus tweeted.
