White House press secretary Sean Spicer criticized the media’s “lack of interest” in reports that former national security adviser Susan Rice ordered the unmasking of President Trump’s associates.
Spicer remarked that he was “somewhat intrigued by the lack of interest” in the Rice revelations. “I do think that it’s interesting, the level, or lack thereof, of interest in this subject,” Spicer told reporters Monday at the daily White House briefing
Bloomberg reported Monday that Rice directed several unmaskings in intelligence reports that contained surveillance of Trump associates who had been swept up through “incidental collection.”
Spicer slammed reporters for chasing stories about alleged Russia collusion with the Trump campaign, alleged collusion between Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee and other stories, while ignoring stories that support Trump’s claims of having been “wiretapped” during the campaign.
However, Spicer declined to comment on the substance of the Rice developments.
