Sen. Ted Cruz made a trip to the Kentucky Derby just days after his humbling defeat in the race for the Republican nomination.
Cruz was spotted in “Millionaire’s Row,” around 1 p.m., wearing a khaki suit and tie, at the annual horse race in Louisville, Ky. The Texas senator reportedly declined an interview.
“I’m just here to have a good time,” he said.

Cruz exited the Republican presidential race on Tuesday after a crushing primary defeat at the hands of front-runner Donald Trump in Indiana. Cruz bowed out within a day of arguing Trump would be unable to gather the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination and after months of insisting he would defeat Trump.
