Three Massachusetts natives who were unable to play golf in their own state were charged with misdemeanors after traveling to Rhode Island to hit a golf course there.
Rhode Island issued a directive that all travelers must quarantine themselves for 14 days after entering the state. Gregory Corbett, 51, Tyler Pietrzyk, 22, and Nye Cameron, 22, reportedly went to great lengths to avoid the quarantine order so they could make it to the Meadow Brook Golf Course.
The three men reportedly drove from Massachusetts to Rhode Island and changed cars in a McDonald’s parking lot, so they could drive a vehicle with Rhode Island-issued plates to the club.

Employees at the fast-food chain reported them, and they were apprehended by the police when they returned to their cars at the McDonald’s.
“It’s not the most heinous offense, but the reality is that we’re living in a whole different world this month, and it’s important we all follow the rules to keep one another safe,” Police Chief Elwood Johnson said.
The men were released in the parking lot and issued summonses for violating the quarantine order.
