Man accused in East St. Louis shooting death

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A southwestern Illinois man is jailed on $500,000 bond after being accused of an East St. Louis shooting death.

Prosecutors in St. Clair County have charged 22-year-old Treveon Burrage of East St. Louis with first-degree murder.

Authorities allege that Burrage shot Joseph Griggs in the head early May 19. A woman later told police she found Griggs’ body in her front yard.

Burrage does not have a listed home telephone number. Online court records don’t show whether he has an attorney.
