Corey Lewandowski shares negative review of Megyn Kelly’s NBC debut

Corey Lewandowski may still harbor some ill will toward Megyn Kelly.

On Monday, President Trump’s former campaign manager — who is said to still be in touch with the White House — tweeted a negative review of Megyn Kelly’s anticipated NBC debut with his 251,000 followers.

Kelly made her premiere Sunday night with a much-hyped interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The review, published in the local New York newspaper Newsday, called Kelly’s debut a “rough start” for what the reviewer believed was a lack of follow-up questions from Kelly.

“Not once did Kelly interject, not once did she tell him that what [Putin] was saying was a load of nonsense,” the review said. “Bottom line: Rough launch for Megyn Kelly, but score one for Vladimir Putin…”

Putin offered mostly slippery answers to Kelly in the interview, which focused on Russia’s interference in the U.S. election (he denied it was state sponsored); his association with Trump’s team (he said he only vaguely knew former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn); and who in Trump’s orbit had U.S. Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak met with (he said he didn’t know).

The interview was panned elsewhere, as well. The Los Angeles Times’s TV critic called Kelly “not a great interviewer.”

Lewandowski has shared negative stories about Kelly before on Twitter.

In October, he shared a story about Kelly’s former colleague, Fox News host Sean Hannity, accusing Kelly of being a Hillary Clinton supporter. And last summer, he shared a story that said Hannity’s ratings were higher than Kelly’s.

During the 2016 campaign, Trump was a frequent critic of Kelly, who he had said covered his candidacy unfairly.
