Trump aims to take on ‘slow’ FDA

President Trump on Tuesday night bashed a “slow and burdensome approval process” at the Food and Drug Administration that he said keeps too many new drugs from reaching the market.

In an address to a joint session of Congress, Trump made a goal to speed up agency approval of new products. Trump has repeatedly called for the FDA to speed up approval of new drugs. However, he has yet to name a commissioner for the agency.
