Joe Rogan called woke employees of Big Tech companies in Silicon Valley “mentally ill” Wednesday, adding that they are “lunatics who are running the asylum to a certain extent.”
The podcast host and UFC commentator made the remarks while speaking with former Apple and Facebook engineer Antonio Garcia Martinez on The Joe Rogan Experience.
“For someone from the outside, we look at it and say, ‘How are those f****** places run?'” Rogan told Martinez.

A friend of the podcast host had a management position within Google, and Rogan said she described the environment as “utter madness.”
“The lunatics are running the asylum to a certain extent because there’s a lot of people working inside the company now that legitimately are mentally ill, and they consider themselves activists,” Rogan said.
Those in charge of the Big Tech corporations placate their workers, he argued.
They have to “because they’re a certain percentage of the population that works for the company, and they’re the loudest, and they oftentimes don’t get work done,” Rogan said.
When the workers get “confronted” for their performance, they all become activists, according to the podcast host.
“You are here for X amount of hours per day. This is your f****** job. You’re not an activist,” Rogan’s friend would have to tell workers, he said.
Martinez said the companies themselves bear a portion of the blame for telling employees to “bring [their] real self to work.”

“Facebook was a cult, and I joined it, and I was a happy member of it,” Martinez said. “It was very powerful. Everyone sacrificed themselves for the sake of the empire and its emperor.”
