House committee to call Trump Organization CFO to testify

The House Intelligence Committee is preparing to call a Trump Organization official who Michael Cohen said knows details of the president’s financial practices, according to a new report.

The Daily Beast reported Thursday that the committee will call Alan Weisselberg, chief financial officer for the Trump Organization, to testify.

Weisselberg was repeatedly mentioned by Cohen, President Trump’s former personal attorney and longtime fixer, in his public testimony in front of the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Wednesday.

Cohen accused Trump of falsifying loan documents, covering up hush-money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign, and evading taxes.

Last summer, Weisselberg was granted immunity in the Southern District of New York investigation into Cohen for agreeing to testify before a grand jury.

House Oversight Chairman Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., also indicated Wednesday that Weisselberg could be called to testify to his committee.
