SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The streets of San Francisco are busy, the hotels are booked and traffic on Bay Area freeways is sluggish as a series of sporting and entertainment events brings throngs of people into the city.

Besides the annual Fleet Week celebration this weekend, the San Francisco Giants open their divisional playoff series in the city Saturday evening. There’s also a popular bluegrass festival being held in the city’s Golden Gate Park and street festivals in North Beach and elsewhere in San Francisco.
