NEW ORLEANS (AP) — General Electric’s chairman and CEO has given $500,000 from the company’s philanthropic arm to the National World War II Museum and $250,000 to the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation.
After presenting money from the GE Foundation to the two nonprofits in a ceremony Tuesday at the museum, Jeff Immelt interviewed retired Marine Corps Maj. Gen James Everett Livingston, a Medal of Honor recipient. Livingston then answered questions from students at Sci Academy, a New Orleans charter school.
