Trump formally announces new White House communications director, other aides

President Trump officially named Michael Dubke as his White House communications director on Monday, several weeks after he had been reported to have taken the job.

Press secretary Sean Spicer has executed the duties that normally fall to a communications director while also serving as the administration’s top spokesman, a dual role that had reportedly become very demanding.

Dubke’s connections to the establishment wing of the GOP had rankled some of Trump’s populist supporters and former campaign hands. As founder of Crossroads Media, which works closely with American Crossroads, a political action committee created by Karl Rove, Dubke maintains close ties to a former Bush aide who criticized Trump during the campaign.

Trump on Monday also formally announced that Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, has been hired to serve as associate director for the Office of Public Liaison.

President Donald J. Trump today announced key additions to the White House staff.

Michael Dubke will serve as Assistant to the President and White House Communications Director. Mr. Dubke was formerly the Founding Partner at the Black Rock Group.

Andrew Giuliani will serve as Associate Director for the Office of Public Liaison. Mr. Giuliani was formerly a volunteer on the Donald J. Trump for President campaign.

Jennifer Korn will serve as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director for the Office of Public Liaison. Ms. Korn was formerly the Deputy Political Director, Strategic Initiatives, Republican National Committee.

Stephen Munisteri will serve as Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director for the Office of Public Liaison. Mr. Munisteri was formerly the Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.

George Sifakis will serve as Assistant to the President and Director for the Office of Public Liaison. Mr. Sifakis was formerly the Founder and CEO of Ideagen.
