Tim Tebow, an athlete who has played two sports professionally, joined forces with Samaritan’s Purse to help people evacuated from Afghanistan.
Samaritan’s Purse partnered with organizations in Afghanistan to assist the rescue and aid efforts trying to help the civilians who want out of the Taliban-controlled country.
“In addition to helping with evacuation flights from Afghanistan through partners on the ground, we sent our @SamaritansPurse DC-8 loaded with supplies and a team to aid evacuees who have been able to get out of the country,” Samaritan’s Purse President and CEO Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, wrote Sunday on Instagram.

Tebow and Edward Graham, the grandson of Billy Graham, both helped with the effort.
“Tim was a great encouragement to everyone on the ground,” the elder Graham wrote.
The Heisman Trophy winner wrote to his followers on Instagram about the crisis in Afghanistan.
We have been heartbroken over the crisis in Afghanistan, the loss of our brave servicemen and women, and the loss of so many other precious lives. With so much suffering around the world, we ask that you join us in prayer…

“We have been heartbroken over the crisis in Afghanistan, the loss of our brave servicemen and women, and the loss of so many other precious lives,” he said. “With so much suffering around the world, we ask that you join us in prayer. Prayer for the country of Afghanistan, the evacuees, the families of those lost, Louisiana & Mississippi, Haiti, the flooding in TN, the fires out west, Covid-19, and so much more. We ask you to pray alongside [the Tim Tebow Foundation] as we try to help fight for those who are hurting.”
He ended the post by quoting scripture and asking God to help those in need.
