Trump: Democratic debate showed candidates are too weak to win without impeachment

President Trump responded to the fourth Democratic presidential primary debate by saying all the candidates looked weak and claiming that is why they are pursuing impeachment.

“You would think there is NO WAY that any of the Democrat Candidates that we witnessed last night could possibly become President of the United States,” Trump said Wednesday on Twitter. “Now you see why they have no choice but to push a totally illegal & absurd Impeachment of one of the most successful Presidents!”

The president followed up with another tweet urging impeachment for Rep. Adam Schiff and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

The fourth Democratic debate took place on Tuesday night with 12 candidates taking the stage. The first question of the event, sponsored by CNN and the New York Times, was on impeachment, which every Democratic candidate who answered the question said they supported.

Trump wrote that the election of any one of the Democrats would spark another depression.

Pelosi announced last month she was backing an impeachment inquiry into Trump after it was revealed he made a call with Ukraine’s president where he asked them to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

Biden, 76, addressed a question about his son’s business dealings in Ukraine during the debate. The former vice president said he was “proud of the judgment” of his son.

Hunter Biden was on the board of a Ukrainian gas company while his father was vice president, and Trump has used the issue to level charges of corruption against the Bidens. Hunter Biden did an interview Tuesday before the debate saying he would not have been on corporate boards unless his name was Biden and that it was “poor judgment” to be on the board of the Ukrainian gas company.
