TikTok removes popular video that advocated for violence against riot police

After circulating the platform for several days and receiving over a million “likes,” a TikTok video that advocated for violence against police equipped with riot gear has now been removed.

This action came after the Washington Examiner contacted TikTok to ask for comment. “It has been removed for violation of our community guidelines,” a TikTok representative said in an email on Wednesday.

The creator of the video, a member of the account SocialistHypeHouse, told viewers, “I really hope none of the protesters figure out that riot cops are like turtles, and if you grab the bottom of their riot shield and push up as fast as you can it’ll flip the riot cops on their backs, and they won’t be able to stand back up because the armor is too bulky and heavy, at which point the rioters, which I in no way condone, could begin kicking the ever-living shit out of the cops and break through their lines.”

The creator continued sarcastically, “I really hope people don’t realize this, because that would be bad.”

The video, which comes as police are responding to George Floyd protests around the country, became the most popular TikTok the page had ever posted.

While the account typically stays away from content that directly calls for violence, a number of their videos include the popular leftist phrase, “Eat the rich.” One video’s caption reads, “When your Elon Musk is sauteed perfectly,” and another reads, “When your Jeff Bezos is cooked a perfect medium-rare.”

These TikTok creators admit that they are anticipating a class war.

Another video calls those who weren’t glad President Ronald Reagan died “stupid” and “dumb.” In one video, the creator claims that socialists were responsible for creating the police and that everyone loves the police. That same creator posted a video two weeks later decrying police brutality, claiming, “This is what justice in america looks like if you’re black.”

While the SocialistHypeHouse still has a limited presence on TikTok, the success of the now-removed video makes it clear that some of their content may be appealing to young people who favor the app.
