Trump: Supreme Court rulings are ‘shotgun blasts into the face’ of conservatives

President Trump used very vivid language to describe his displeasure after two major Supreme Court rulings this week.

“These horrible & politically charged decisions coming out of the Supreme Court are shotgun blasts into the face of people that are proud to call themselves Republicans or Conservatives. We need more Justices or we will lose our 2nd. Amendment & everything else. Vote Trump 2020!” Trump tweeted Thursday morning.

The tweet came after a 5-4 decision by the Supreme Court blocked him from ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, which shields thousands of immigrant children who were brought to the United States illegally from deportation.

Earlier in the week, the Supreme Court ruled that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act protects gay and transgender people from employment discrimination. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Neil Gorsuch, a Trump appointee, joined with the liberal justices in the 6-3 ruling.

The high court also declined 10 cases related to gun rights for the term that begins in October.

“Do you get the impression that the Supreme Court doesn’t like me?” Trump also tweeted.
