President Trump shared his opinion on the second Democratic presidential debate on Twitter Wednesday morning.
The debate prominently featured 2020 front-runners Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren defending their liberal agendas from more moderate candidates who are lower in the polls. The more liberal candidates were forced to defend their single-payer “Medicare for all” policy stance, decriminalizing the border, and providing undocumented workers with free healthcare.
If I hadn’t won the 2016 Election, we would be in a Great Recession/Depression right now. The people I saw on stage last night, & you can add in Sleepy Joe, Harris, & the rest, will lead us into an economic sinkhole the likes of which we have never seen before. With me, only up!

“If I hadn’t won the 2016 Election, we would be in a Great Recession/Depression right now,” Trump tweeted. “The people I saw on stage last night, & you can add in Sleepy Joe, Harris & the rest, will lead us into an economic sinkhole the likes of which we have never seen before. With me, only up!”
The president called out the other two front-runners in former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris. The two of them, who will be on the debate stage Wednesday night, had a strong confrontation during the first presidential debate.
This was Trump’s first remarks about Tuesday night’s debate.
