The View’s Joy Behar interrupted fellow co-host Sunny Hostin’s questioning of Sen. Amy Klobuchar after Hostin grilled the 2020 Democrat over her handling of a case as a prosecutor.
Klobuchar, 59, has come under scrutiny within the last month for a case she prosecuted in which a black teenager was handed a life sentence for the 2002 death of 11-year-old Tyesha Edwards after a stray bullet entered the girl’s house. A recent examination of the case cast doubt on the investigation and suggested that the defendant, Myon Burrell, then 16 years old, could be innocent.
“It had no gun, it had no DNA evidence, and it had no fingerprints,” Hostin said about the investigation during the show’s Tuesday episode.
“It must be reviewed,” Klobuchar responded. “I think you know that I care so much about justice.”
“Are we prosecuting Amy Klobuchar today?” Behar asked after Hostin spent most of the segment tearing into the Minnesota Democrat.
Klobuchar’s appearance on the show comes as she is surging in New Hampshire on the day of the state’s primary. The senator is currently polling third in the state, according to RealClearPolitics.
