Former NBA star and current ESPN analyst Jalen Rose demanded that the police officers involved in the death of Breonna Taylor be arrested.
“It’d also be a great day to arrest the cops that murdered Breonna Taylor!” Rose said during the halftime of Wednesday’s Boston Celtics game against the Miami Heat before ESPN cut to a commercial break.

Rose’s comments came hours after Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced that no Louisville Metro Police Department officers had been indicted by a grand jury in the death of 26-year-old Breonna Taylor. Former Detective Brett Hankison was charged with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment for putting Taylor’s neighbors in danger during the raid.
Taylor was killed on March 13 during the execution of a “no-knock” warrant on her apartment. The officers did not identify themselves as police, according to Taylor’s boyfriend. Louisville settled with Taylor’s family for $12 million and promised to reform the police department.
Rose, who played in the NBA between 1994 and 2007, has been outspoken on social justice issues. Last week, he told viewers on ESPN that “without black lives, America wouldn’t matter.”
