Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will deliver remarks at 10 a.m. EST on Tuesday morning amid growing tensions between the United States and Iran.
President Trump directed U.S. forces to launch an airstrike that killed top Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani last week, claiming intelligence showed Soleimani was preparing to attack Americans abroad. The strike, which occurred on Thursday, was also in retaliation for Iran orchestrating “attacks on coalition bases in Iraq over the last several months,” according to a statement from the Pentagon.
