President Trump found a bail bondsman in his crowd of supporters at a Florida rally and began joking with him about knowing Hunter Biden.
Trump has accused Hunter Biden of corrupt dealings in Ukraine and taking a position on a Ukrainian energy company in exchange for better deals with the United States while Joe Biden served as vice president.
Trump began ripping into the Bidens at his rally while criticizing impeachment proceedings in the House among Democratic lawmakers.
The impeachment investigation centers on allegations that Trump withheld military aid from Ukraine to secure investigations by the foreign government into the Bidens’ work there. Democrats have accused Trump of pushing for the investigations to get a political advantage over the former vice president going into the 2020 presidential election.
“Where is Hunter? [Joe Biden’s] son received millions and millions of dollars from a Ukrainian energy company — you know the reputation of that company — despite knowing absolutely nothing about energy,” Trump said before singling a man out in the crowd and asking what business he is in.
The man replied that he works with bail bonds, which are surety bonds sold to accused criminals. Trump smirked at the man and asked him, “Do you know Hunter Biden? Do you know Sleepy Joe?” as the crowd laughed.
