Donald Trump on Monday blasted Hillary Clinton, claiming she can “never” be an ally of the LGBT community as long as she supports admitting “Islamic extremists to our country.”
“Hillary Clinton can never claim to be a friend of the gay community as long as she continues to support immigration policies that bring Islamic extremists to our country,” the presumptive Republican nominee said during a counterterrorism speech in the wake of the terror attack in Orlando, Fla.
Trump claimed that allowing additional Syrian refugees to migrate to the U.S. could inadvertently bring radicalized individuals who “suppress women, gays or anyone else who doesn’t share their values” to America.
“The burden is on Hillary Clinton to tell us why she believes immigration from these dangerous countries should be increased,” he said, adding that “it will be much easier to deal with our problem if we don’t keep bringing people who add to the problem.”
