Michael Cohen will tell the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday that President Trump is a racist, conman, and cheat.
In a purported copy of his prepared testimony obtained by Politico, Cohen is expected to publicly testify that Trump knew Roger Stone “was talking with Julian Assange about a WikiLeaks drop of Democratic National Committee emails.”
“I am ashamed that I chose to take part in concealing Mr. Trump’s illicit acts rather than listening to my own conscience,” the copy of Cohen’s prepared remarks say. “I am ashamed because I know what Mr. Trump is. He is a racist. He is a conman. He is a cheat.”
The documents Trump’s former fixer and lawyer will provide to the committee include a check that he says Trump wrote to him after he became president, which was meant to reimburse him for hush-money payments.
Cohen admitted to campaign finance violations during the 2016 presidential campaign related to paying off two women who alleged they had affairs with Trump. He also pleaded guilty to lying to Congress.
Cohen will testify publicly on Wednesday before the Oversight Committee and in a classified hearing before the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday.
