The View’s Meghan McCain praised Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren for her debate attacks against Michael Bloomberg.
“I really enjoyed watching you. I really enjoyed you watching rip out Mayor Bloomberg’s jugular,” the conservative host said in an interview with Warren on Thursday’s show. “I too, I take great offense at the idea that you’ve been running for president and the all other candidates have been running for president for a long time and you should just drop out because he has billions of dollars.”
During the presidential debate Wednesday evening, which took place in Las Vegas, Warren assailed Bloomberg over a slew of allegations of inappropriate comments toward women, his enforcement of nondisclosure agreements, and controversial policies he supported in the past, such as stop and frisk.
McCain said Warren’s point about nominating a Democrat who has “a history of harassing women” is an “incredibly strong point,” because “I believe the media has given him a huge pass on this.”
Warren said Bloomberg is likely spending an additional $100 million dollars on advertising following his debate performance.
In one of the most contentious moments of the ninth Democratic primary debate, Warren compared Bloomberg and his alleged comments toward women to President Trump.
“I’d like to talk about who we’re running against: a billionaire who calls women ‘fat broads’ and ‘horse-faced lesbians.’ And no, I’m not talking about Donald Trump. I’m talking about Mayor Bloomberg,” Warren said. “Democrats are not going to win if we have a nominee who has a history of hiding his tax returns, of harassing women, and of supporting racist policies like redlining and stop and frisk. Look, I’ll support whoever the Democratic nominee is, but understand this: Democrats take a huge risk if we just substitute one arrogant billionaire for another.”
