The Texas woman at the center of a briefly granted and revoked abortion case is scheduled to attend the State of the Union address as a guest of President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden on March 7.
When Kate Cox‘s case was denied by the Texas Supreme Court, she traveled out of state to undergo an abortion. Doctors diagnosed Cox’s baby with trisomy 18, a condition that triples the 18th chromosome in the DNA. Cox was the first woman actively seeking an abortion via the court system since before Roe v. Wade.
