At least 36 people were injured when the bus overturned shortly before 6:00 a.m. while traveling north on Hutchinson River Parkway, according to a report.
The driver had tried to turn on an exit when the accident occurred, police said.

Of the 36 injured, 33 were reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Images of the overturned bus show wounded people tossed aside, scattering the ground near the bus.
The accident might affect the bus routes of New York City’s summer camp-school program, according to New York City Schools Chancellor David Banks.
“The safety of every member of our community is our priority, and thankfully, no major injuries were sustained in this morning’s bus accident in the Bronx,” Banks said.
