New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio struggled to remember who he was competing with in the Democratic presidential primary, only naming 11 of his fellow competitors in one minute.
De Blasio named, “Bernie, Elizabeth, Bullock, Steyer” before slowing down and saying “hold on I can do this.” The naming competition was a video series that the Des Moines Register was doing with some of the candidates.
It took the mayor 46 seconds before naming front runner Joe Biden. Tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang was able to name 23 of the 24 Democratic candidates in one minute. South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Michael Bennet also competed and were able to name 16 candidates each.
De Blasio is currently polling 0.3% in the Democratic presidential primary according to RealClearPolitics. A recent poll found that Democratic voters would be most disappointed if de Blasio were the Democratic presidential nominee.
