Illinois Congressman Danny Davis’ 15-year-old grandson was shot to death in a home invasion in Chicago on Friday.
Davis said his grandson was shot in the head by a pair of teenagers.
“What could have prevented this tragedy? Better education, more supervision after school activity. Better parenting,” Davis said in a statement. “I grieve for my family. I grieve for the young man who pulled the trigger. I grieve for his family, his parents, his friends.”
Davis also thanked the Chicago Police Department for their professionalism and thanked the press for giving his grandson’s family space to breathe before asking questions following the tragedy.
