Violent protests erupted outside Donald Trump’s Albuquerque rally late Tuesday night, but that did not bother the presumed Republican presidential nominee.
According to Trump, though protesters chanted “F—- Donald Trump” outside the convention center, “the rally inside was big and beautiful.”
“The protesters in New Mexico were thugs who were flying the Mexican flag. The rally inside was big and beautiful, but outside, criminals!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning.

According to reports, protesters burned pro-Trump flags and signs, and also threw rocks and bottles. Police had to use smoke devices against the crowd, which some people kicked back at officers. Some Albuquerque police were injured amid the protests.
Trump campaign director of social media and senior adviser, Dan Scavino Jr., also called the protestors “thugs” and “punks” on Twitter.
