A part-time teacher in Virginia was arrested Friday after allegedly slapping an 8-year-old student who spat on him inside a Prince William County elementary school classroom.
Eman Mohammed Alkindi, 44, is facing assault and battery charges for striking the Fannie Fitzgerald Elementary student on April 1, according to police.
The student is said to have spat on Alkindi after becoming upset with the temporary teacher.

Alkindi returned the gesture by slapping the elementary school student across the face, according to police. He then exited the classroom.
Staff at the Woodbridge, Virginia, school notified school administrators of the incident, and the authorities were contacted.

Alkindi was released on a court summons and is awaiting a trial date.
