The Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday made good on a Trump administration promise by opening a new government agency for victims of crimes committed by illegal immigrants.

The office of Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement, or VOICE, was opened by DHS Secretary John Kelly, who was joined by both Acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan and House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va. At the joint press conference, Kelly said the VOICE office will help “shine a light” on victims.
