DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — State officials are asking residents of Vinton in eastern Iowa to boil their drinking water or use bottled water because of positive samples for coliform and E. coli bacteria.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources issued the advisory on Friday. It will remain in effect until tests show the water is safe to drink.
