Gas prices: Continue to fall after the July Fourth holiday

Gas prices continued to decrease this week, even after the July Fourth holiday. On Tuesday, the national average cost for regular gas dropped to $3.149 per gallon, according to AAA.

Tuesday’s fuel costs were slightly less expensive than a week ago, when the average price for regular gas was $3.171 per gallon. Prices are also lower than on the last day of June, when regular gas in the country was $3.185 per gallon. Fuel costs were substantially lower than a year ago, when the national average price for regular gas was a whopping $3.519 per gallon.
