Fuller is due in Nassau County Court on Friday for sentencing on his murder convictions. He faces up to life without parole.

The president of the county police union says life in prison isn’t enough for Fuller. He says it’s unfortunate New York no longer has a death penalty.

Fuller was convicted in the shooting of Officer Arthur Lopez and the carjacking killing of Raymond Facey in 2012.

Prosecutors said that after the killings, Fuller had a friend shoot him in the leg to make it appear he was a victim.
