Government Work

Published

Government, we are told by those who evangelize for more of it, is the “things we choose to do together.” If so, then “we” don’t appear to be so happy with the job we have been collectively doing. As Rebecca Shabad at the Hill reports, a recent poll done by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds that:

Only one in ten people in the United States says the government works well, and doesn’t need to be changed.

One wonders how the soreheads in the other 90 percent could overlook the fine job that government does in its day-to-day operations.  As, for example, when it destroyed a professional musician’s treasured instruments because a customs agent figured the13 unique flutes were made of a banned substance.
